Merry-go-round

Posted on by

Instrument: Brio – Red Cedar Concert Ukulele

1. Look at all the animals
Spinning round and round.
Take a ride on one
Till you get dizzy and fall down.
And keep your arms and hands inside
This crazy merry-go-round.
Refrain:

2. Feelings in a turmoil,
Thoughts are whirling fast.
Burning self-delusion,
Hurried future, worried past.
Hang on and find the Center,
‘Cause this ride will never last.
Refrain:

3. Look at all the animals,
Two of every kind.
Thoughts are just alike
And find each other in the mind.
So lift up all your thinking,
And let Spirit be your guide.
Refrain: (Twice)

When we are still, the miracle will set us flying free.

Refrain:
You see the hub
That keeps this thing a-turnin’ ’round, turnin’ ’round?
The solid core
That holds it up and never lets it down?
That Spirit’s real and turns the wheel for you and me.
When we are still, the miracle will set us flying free.

Stars of Night

(Capo 3)

1. The brilliant stars across the sky
Have shone since ancient days
To wish, protect, and to direct
And light the path we take.
Refrain:

2. Their tender tales and story-songs
Reflect the depths of time
And help to show the lives that flow
Within Eternal Mind.
Refrain:

3. For we are stars of ancient days
That travel through the sky
And shimmer long as we go on
The Spirit’s path of life.
Refrain:

O may we
Refrain:

Refrain:
Shine, shine, o stars of night,
Sparks of God’s wondrous Light,
And Love that wakes the inner Sight!
O [ending: We] shine, shine, o stars of night!

The Music Inside

Posted on by

This poem is based on my experiences writing songs on ukulele. But it applies to all of life! Things tend to go better when we let the Universe or God micromanage them, rather than trying to go it “alone.”

4 strings and a bundle of nerves
2 hands and a couple of curves
fingers flying and taking a swerve
All for the music inside!

3 chords and the timing is wrong
Strumming, picking, is that a song?
Play it, sing it, move along
All for the music inside!

4 strings and a barrel of fun
Worry and hurry are over and done
The singing and playing in Spirit is One
All for the music inside!

Instrument: Caera – Mahogany
Tenor Ukulele in CGDA Tuning

1. Our heart is the center of body and mind,
A chapel where seeking becomes what we find,
The altar connecting the earth and the sky
As One, as One.

2. Our heart is the Light of a being so fair,
A chapel of healing, of comfort and care,
The altar to worship the Lifeforce we share
As One, as One.

3. Our heart is the home of the Spirit that breathes,
A chapel of wisdom we enter in peace,
The altar where burdens are gently released
As One, as One.

4. Our heart is the rhythm of all that we are,
A chapel of Love and the music of stars,
The altar of harmony sung in its parts
As One, as One, as One, as One.

Eternal Love

Posted on by

Lyrics based on 1 Corinthians 13 and meditation.

Instrument: Brio – Red Cedar Concert Ukulele

1. I thought I knew so many things when I was young,
But knew in part and understood just pieces of the One.
Yet the Love that brought us here in Spirit always will remain,
The greatest gift of ages that will never fail or change.
Refrain:

2. I see a dim reflection of a perfect place,
A veil over a mirror, but in Heaven face to face.
And as time is moving onward and the bless’ed Kingdom comes,
We feel the purest Presence of eternity in Love.
Refrain:

3. Without it we are nothing by ourselves alone.
In God we can discern the Truth and know as we are known.
Everything we see will all be gone, but there’s no need to fear.
The Love of our Creator is embracing us right here.
Refrain: (Twice)

God’s Love within our Spirit is the Light that never fades.

Refrain:
And may Love keep playing on the strings of our hearts,
Because Its sweet vibration is the ending and the start.
And even though the world we know will someday pass away,
The Love within our Spirit is the Light that never fades.

Figure-eights, and circles too.
Back and forth and side to side,
Harmony surrounding you.

2. Lift your arms in joy and blessing,
Offer up your voice to speak.
Spread your hands and raise your power.
What you’ve given, you receive.
So

Refrain 2:
Dance, come on and dance!
Move your body joyfully and prance!
Feel your spirit open and your energy enhance
As you dance, come on and dance!

3. Stomp your feet with good intentions
Manifest, so mote it be.
You are love and light and laughter.
In yourself is all you seek.

Sound or Silence Choice

Posted on by

Instrument: Tempo – Seagull Excursion Folk Acoustic Guitar

1. I was born in the silence,
Just another day to most.
But I was born in a crashing din
To the ones that held me close.
Refrain:

2. Oh to sleep like a baby
In a world of loving kind.
But many fight when the night is dark,
In a restless state of mind.
Refrain:

3. Some believe in each other
And encourage all they do.
Others try to stop different
Expressions of the Truth.
Refrain:

Either way we leave a mark
With our sound or silence choice.

Refrain:
O from the silence and the sound,
Some effect will come around.
Any time and any place,
We all have a choice to make.
We can be a gentle spark
Or a yelling, jarring voice.
Either way we leave a mark
With our sound or silence choice.

Celebrating Dr. Paul Leon Masters

Posted on by

The voice of inspiration is expressed strongly through some people. It may not be loud – well, maybe occasionally – but Truth makes ready souls with ears to hear, sit up and pay attention.

For more than half a century, Dr. Masters was conscious, aware, and connected enough to share this divine, inspired voice with his students and the public alike. As Founder of International Metaphysical Ministry and its University System, Dr. Masters blazed the trail for mystics and Metaphysicians all over the world. Some of us practice traditionally, as ministers with church buildings and congregations. Others, like myself, practice less traditionally, have no physical church and instead let inspiration flow from the church-within, through music, art, writing, athletics, television acting, and a myriad of other careers, hobbies, and vocations. No matter the shape of our practice, cultural background, religious beliefs, or other personal attributes, Dr. Masters paved the way and founded the organization that would grant us ordination and degrees, in short, so that we are recognized and respected for our accumulated knowledge, research, works, and ministries.

The International Metaphysical Ministry, University of Metaphysics, and University of Sedona carry on, as Dr. Masters desired, and continue his inspired legacy of Metaphysical teachings. We may take time to mourn his physical passing. But let us take more time to thank the God-Presence, Infinite and Eternal, that inspires and expresses in each of us. May each of us who feel a calling, answer it with as much dedication, commitment, and God-centered Love as Dr. Masters did throughout his lifetime!

Blessings and gratitude to the staff, graduates, students, and all who resonate with Metaphysical ministry in all its forms! Thank you for your service and continued commitment to the Ministry Dr. Masters brought us, that it may serve its purpose and be a positive influence in many more lives! And that each student and graduate, past, present, and potential, may carry the Light of Truth in his or her heart and practice by the Grace of God and indwelling of Christ Consciousness and the Holy Spirit – Holy Breath – that animates every soul!

And so it is!

Breathe – Meditation Song

Posted on by

Instrument: Tempo – Seagull Excursion Folk Acoustic Guitar

1. The flow of air
Made of love, peace, and care,
It is your breath of life,
And through all of your time,
God is there,
In the flow of air.

2. And as you breathe,
You let go and receive,
All the gifts freely given,
For on Earth as in Heaven,
Spirit leads
Every breath you breathe.

Refrain:
So, exhale the things you don’t need,
And inhale the gifts you receive!
Breathe! Breathe!

3. We ebb and flow
In the Spirit that knows.
We are all in His Mind,
Where we seek and we find
God is so
As we ebb and flow.
Refrain:

Breathe! Breathe!
