Two Harp Announcements #Tanka #Poem

My double strung harp,
Arriving to enjoy Spring,
Perhaps will bring strength.
A dream laid by, unfulfilled,
Rekindles desire at last!

Announcements:

1. My double strung harp will indeed arrive in Spring, in April if not
sooner! This is my dream harp and the only one I will ever purchase.
Someone out there is laughing right now, because, “You never have just
one harp!” And, “Whatever harp you purchase now won’t fit you
forever.” If those are the rules–and I’m not saying they are–then I
am the exception to both.

2. I’ve enrolled in the Therapy Harp Training Program, a certification
course for playing clinical healthcare music. This has been my dream
since I first took harp lessons about 10 years ago! The cost and
travel requirements of most training programs have been prohibitive
for me until now. This program doesn’t require travel and has
installment payment options, on top of being a well-rounded,
compassion-based program that includes both scientific and spiritual
components.

I’m so pleased and excited!

Universal Spring #Decima #Poem

O after Winter comes the Spring!
All bursting forth in brilliant song,
And carrying our hearts along,
It lifts us to inspired things!

We must not to a season cling,
But flow with each one in our stride
And feel their qualities inside,
That we may fuller, wiser grow
And through the seasons learn to show
The Light of Universal Mind!

Travel Blessing 3TC #Poem

May the road rise up to meet you*
And the challenges before you
Be just under what defeats you!
And still may you be assured to
Keep on going in the Presence
Of the Life that gives you living!
May the road rise up to meet you
And your taking be forgiving!

*Old Irish blessing.

ManyOne 3TC #Triolet #Poem

The earth is home to many lives!
They’re seen as “other,” not as one;
We give our love to few besides.
The earth is home to many lives!
The Universe for all provides
Enough to see Its Will be done.
The earth is home to many lives!
They’re seen as “other,” not as one…

Schubert “Impromptu” #Music

Happy birthday, Schubert!

Franz Schubert was born on January 31, 1797. In honor of his birthday, I posted
“Die Forelle” (The Trout)
on zither last year.

Today I’m sharing a simple arrangement of Schubert’s “Impromptu, Opus 90, Number 3”. To me this piece contains elements of his “Ave Maria,” which I love.

I hope you enjoy this arrangement on alto recorder, viola, and lyre!

“Sweet Hour of Prayer” #Music

Download Mp3

“Sweet Hour of Prayer” was written by William W. Walford, who lived in England from 1772 to 1850.

This hymn is about private prayer, rather than congregational prayer in a church service or other setting. This is deep, intense, personal prayer of petition; thanksgiving; and again, petition, but from a waiting, faithful soul who is aware that God already knows what is needed.

American songwriter, William Bradbury, composed the fitting music for this hymn.

I hope you enjoy this beautiful, contemplative melody on zither!

Symphony of Love #Decima #Poem

Sweet music is my one true love,
Regardless of the place and time.
It brings me joy and peace sublime,
An earthly gift from Heav’n above.

In strains descending as a dove,
I’m perfect, whole, contented, free!
Sweet music keeps reminding me
To live, to love, to laugh and care;
To be compassionate and share
A love-inspired symphony!
