Bare branches tremble
Full of snow and icicles…
Winter strikes again!

Winter comes each year
Roughens ground and toughens hearts
For Spring’s opening!

Crescent shines above
Bathes the world with tenderness
Tranquil, my heart rests.
Crescent shines at breakfast time
Greeting the new day with jam!

I am Mr. Seagull, not to be confused with the rest of my family–that is, my mate and hatchlings. I am the Big Cheese, and that’s the way it is. I shouldn’t have to tell you I live near the ocean.
You think I should be content just eating fish, but here’s something that will really knock your beach sandals off.
My favorite food is French fries, especially when I swoop down and nab them from an unsuspecting, scared child! AH AH AH, yum yum yum, BLISS!

Needless to say, I was the child in the story… :-()
Light is covered by the veiling,
Never gone, however darkened.
To its calling we must harken,
If we seek a smoother sailing.
Shooting stars with tails a-trailing,
Closer, closer now they shimmer…
Even as the light grows dimmer!
Let us see with mind and spirit!
Heart and soul, be always near it:
Light within forever glimmers!

Not to be confused with Debussy’s “Clair de Lune,” a classical piece I love, this one is an 18th-century French folk song. The title literally means “By the Light of the Moon.” Its author is unknown, but the melody reigns supreme when anyone learns a musical instrument. In fact, it was one of the first songs I learned to play when I took violin lessons.
Today you’re hearing alto recorder, viola rather than violin, and Oriole soprano recorder, accompanied by ukulele. I hope you enjoy this catchy melody!
How we push and we press and we shove
To suppress all our negative stuff…
And each time we do that,
We are not really flat…
On the contrary: We must erupt!

To everyone who posts a daily prompt like this, I give you my thanks and admiration! I appreciate your dedication, encouragement, and inspiration, even though I can’t participate every day. Thank you! ❤
Thunder
before the rain
told all to stay inside.
Of course, not everyone obeyed…
Distraught.
Salvaged
after the rain,
with the coming of dawn,
the bright-shining symbol of a
new leaf.
Our own
Garden of Eden,
where perhaps no storms rage,
only exists eternally
in Light.
we find
matcha for tea,
giving thanks for supply;
respecting, taking what we need
to live.
Dragon
of avarice
is fed by humankind…
Yet we always have the option
]to choose!
Black tie
around his neck
chokes off the serpent’s greed.
And Light is always here, beyond
false dark.
We live
in half-and-half,
Light and dark together.
Which we see depends on our own
seeking!

Simple in nature
Yet difficult for people,
