The strength I need
Is hard to come by many days.
The strength I need…
I call and call; it will not heed.
And when it comes, it doesn’t stay.
If only I could somehow save
The strength I need!
The strength I need
Is hard to come by many days.
The strength I need…
I call and call; it will not heed.
And when it comes, it doesn’t stay.
If only I could somehow save
The strength I need!
Here are some familiar children’s songs on lyre with bow. They are easier to play than some other tunes, and the 7-string lyre makes it easier still. But make no mistake, this bow still has a huge learning curve!
Tuning: D4, E4, F#4, G4, A4, B4, D5
Tunes:
Hot Cross Buns
Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star
London Bridge
Mary had a Little Lamb
Row Row Row your Boat
Enjoy the double strung arrangements of these tunes as well, played on 2 19-string acoustic lyres.
Loving comfort is wrapped in the sound.
Young and elderly all gather round.
Radiant when it rings,
Ev’ry note, ev’ry string.
Simple beauty and magic profound!
Note: You may have noticed that this poem is an Acrostic as well as a Limerick.
This is a tune I wrote called Grant Us Love. Here is the simple melody played on 7-string pentatonic lyre, both plucked and with Pickaso Guitar Bow.
Tuning: D4, E4, F#4, G4, A4, B4, D5. Note: If you play the melody without harmony, you can play in the standard G major pentatonic tuning of D4, E4, G4, A4, B4, D5, E5.
Arrangement on 16-string solid body lyre.
Double strung arrangement on 2 19-string acoustic lyres.
There are people who can’t stand to see
That you are happy and fulfilled!
Living with them is the worst,
But don’t let them hurt you.
Stay on your journey;
Maintain your joy!
Live your life…
Choosing
YOU!
Peace whispers softly
In between the waves and storms
Changing sea of life
Take courage in your struggles
Nature thrives! And so do you!
Here is an original instrumental entitled Longing. Played first on BJL 16-string solid body lyre.
Instrumental with flute, etc.
And on my little 7-string pentatonic lyre, now tuned to D major pentatonic, instead of its original tuning of G Major pentatonic. This only requires re-tuning one string.
The same pentatonic lyre with Pickaso Guitar Bow.
On Lynda Lyre with nylon strings, taking advantage of the lower range.
Back to steel strings… Double strung arrangement on 2 BJL 19-string acoustic lyres. Enjoy the ringing strings!
Grab gelatin or pudding too,
And just one extra egg improves.
In place of water, try some milk
To make the batter smooth as silk.
Use melted butter, not the oil,
And smile at everyone you foil!
A box of cake mix? Wow! Who knew?
There’s some to share… Or all for you!
I’m not asleep… i’m not awake…
I’m going through the motions tough.
No meds to blame or drinks of late,
I’m not asleep… i’m not awake…
If I pretend… If I just fake,
The zombie me is good enough.
I’m not asleep… i’m not awake…
I’m going through the motions tough.
You must have courage to create
To do it now and not to wait
To know that good is good enough
And try again when things get rough.
So be creative! Do your part!
Express your soul, your mind, your heart!
And sharing all, or sharing none,
Create with courage, and have fun!
