When I quit the quirks of thinking
Without fretting on my fate;
When I shift the ship that’s sinking
With lamenting fear of late…
If my soul, in seeking solace
Finds rest for resting’s sake,
Then tranquility’s a chancy chance
My mindfulness can take!

Love the rhythm in this but I can assure you that tranquility far transcends mindfulness, although it is a stepping stone to deep tranquility 🙂

We all have to start somewhere. If that is mindfulness, then it’s progress. Tranquility can only be experienced in the present moment and that’s what this poem conveys.

Loving the way you handled the prompt! Enjoyed the rhyming and cadence…and oh yes…..if we can just shift our mind away from the stress, a tranquil day shall be ours! Sometimes for some folks, not so easy to do….but we sure can try! 🙂
