Shattered Heart

My shattered heart rains pieces on all who dare to touch it.
Broken by dreams, doubts, dread, and the debris of drama.
Taken by love, life, loads, burdens, and by laughter.
All who dare to touch my heart shatter it,
Breaking it open like the clouds that bring Spring rains,
Only to leave the brilliant sun in their wake…
My shattered heart rains pieces on all who dare to touch it…
Pieces of love, blessed by tears, strengthened by sorrow, eroded by extraordinary miracles
Of life!

Lost Heart

Reaching

We always reach for the next big thing.
A place to belong and some meaning to bring.
A cause to campaign for, a light on the scene.
Contentment is something to get, not to be.
We reach for the brass ring, while dawn breaks–unseen!

My response to Björn’s Quadrille prompt using the word “dawn.” Come join us, read, and comment at

Compassion

Instrument: Brio – Red Cedar Concert Ukulele

Refrain:
Your compassion is your humanity!
Let it warm you and set your Spirit free.
It won’t take away anything you need today.
It makes the world brighter, you agree.
Your compassion is your humanity!

1. Many folks are doin’ things
You don’t think they should do.
Well, how about considering
That they have feelings too?
You don’t live the life they’re livin’,
But there’s something you can give them.
Compassion is the key!
Refrain:

2. All the woes and worries
That you get into your head,
From sun up until sundown,
When you’re in and out of bed.
But you can’t see it all,
‘Cause you don’t have a crystal ball.
Compassion is the key!
Refrain:

3. People tell you not to
Think about yourself.
But if you don’t even care,
Then why should anybody else?
Give the gift of time
To your body and your mind.
Compassion is the key!
Refrain:

Be a human now!
Your compassion is your humanity!

Spirit of Truth

A song of the Divine Feminine, Holy Breath, Shekhina–the Holy Spirit. In Essence, She and we are One; so this is an affirmation.

Instrument: Brio – Red Cedar Concert Ukulele

I love as you love.
I give as you give.
I turn as you turn.
I live as you live.

I know as you know.
I form as you form.
I bless as you bless.
I warm as you warm.

For you are me,
And I am you,
The manifesting
Spirit of Truth!

I breathe as you breathe.
I flow as you flow.
I work as you work.
I glow as you glow.

I love as you love.
I give as you give.
I turn as you turn.
I live as you live.

For you are me,
And I am you,
The manifesting
Spirit of Truth!

You are me,
And I am you,
The manifesting
Spirit of Truth!

Wild Wind

Wind howls through my mind,
tearing a treacherous path,
driving, destroying, demolishing…
The calm, cultivated landscape
erodes before me.
What can this mean?
What’s next?
A breeze speaks whisperingly
of a land too close to see.
“Come…”
And through the howling wind,
I go.

Quadrille, 44 words excluding title, containing some form of “whisper.” This one also goes for De’s challenge of “whisperingly.” Try your own and enjoy others at

Choice Is Voice

If you received this post by email, click the URL to hear this song.

Instrument: Brio – Red Cedar Concert Ukulele

Refrain:
How we spend our money,
Actions, words, and time,
There’s an awful lot of spending
That goes on in this life!
How we spend our energy,
Feelings, and thoughts,
The product ought to fit the price
Of what we spent in cost!

1. We don’t have to be broke
Or wonder which way’s up
Or try to drink from that half empty,
Cracked financial cup.
It’s gonna take some time,
But starting is a choice.
We know where our money goes,
And we still have a voice!
Refrain:

2. It becomes a habit,
What we say and do,
How we treat each other
And our fellow beings too.
It takes a conscious mind
To choose a better way.
Let’s speak for the Light in us
With every choice we make!
Refrain:

3. We criticize in judgment,
But so much is not true.
And we feel sad and tired
Like our energy is through.
But every day is new.
Remember why we’re here:
To live in Love and freedom
With the Spirit bright and clear!
Refrain:

We make the product fit the price
Of what we spent in cost!

To Be Fit

To center myself through the day,
I let all the world fall away…
My whole consciousness
curls into itself,
disarming the furious fray.

Amazing well-being I find,
curls out of the Infinite Mind.
With sweetest success,
abundantly blessed,
from chaos to vision so kind!

Top 5 Things I Learned from Writing Christmas Cards

This post is a big deal, not because my hand hurts from writing, but because this is the first year I’ve given Christmas cards. I know some people and families who do it every year; I’ve even received some of these cards myself. But I’ve never taken the time to choose them, write them, seal them snuggly in envelopes, put names on them, and send them out into the world to bless others. After this experience I have only one question… Why did I wait so long?

Top 5 Things I Learned from Writing Christmas Cards

5. I have more friends than I thought! And not just a few–with each card written, I thought of another one I could have written.

4. The message sent through your heart and hands is always just the right one.

3. You, unwrapped, unfiltered, undivided, are always the greatest gift!

2. Peace is tangible: You touch it every time you touch someone else.

1. The cost is minimal, while the love is priceless!

So write your Christmas or other holiday (or no holiday!) cards with joy, because that joy will return to sender many times over!

God bless us!

This does not sound like a Christmas song. Even people surrounded by family and others can feel most isolated at this time of year. And if my prayer list is any indication, people want to feel some glimmer of hope and blessings, now more than ever! That’s why this isn’t a Christmas song, and why most of my holiday songs are more generic–because it’s not only on a holiday that we long to experience something higher than our human thoughts and circumstances! This longing is universal, and Higher Consciousness is, too! And so, may blessings be upon you, now and always!

Numbers 6:24-26 (NKJV)

“The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.”

Blessings Be upon You – Lyrics

Instrument: Tempo – Seagull Excursion Folk Acoustic Guitar

1. When times are dark and dreary
And you feel worn and weary,
I ask that blessings be upon you.
Refrain:

2. When every wish you’ve wanted
Is like a haunting hunter,
I ask that blessings be upon you.
Refrain:

3. When careless words are working
To keep you hard and hurting,
I ask that blessings be upon you.
Refrain: (Twice)

May the Lord give you peace!

Refrain:
The Lord bless you and keep you
And shine His face upon you.
The Lord be gracious unto you
And give you peace.
The Lord give you peace!

The Time is NOW

“The time has come,” the Walrus said,
“To talk of many things:”*
And talk is all we do;
No wonder we don’t change a thing!
The fear of time and time of fear
Strings us along a string.
The time is now, and now’s the time
To act upon the scene!
